THE ORIGIN STORY

The Engineer &
The Surgeon

Dr. Paul Pagano, MD

Dr. Paul Pagano, MD is a board-certified orthopedic spine surgeon and formally trained mechanical engineer — a rare combination that uniquely positions him at the intersection of medicine, biomechanics, and product design.

He earned his engineering degree from the University of Cincinnati and later received his Doctor of Medicine from The Ohio State University College of Medicine. He completed his orthopedic residency at Wayne State University, followed by two fellowships in spinal surgery.

Dr. Pagano has been in private practice since 2001 and is the managing physician of a large orthopedic practice in Florida. He has worked extensively with medical device companies as a surgeon-engineering consultant and holds multiple patents in medical implants, surgical techniques, and product design.

THE INNOVATION

TruGrowth Neruo-Postural Seating Technology

Static sitting stagnates development. Conventional seats lock hips and round the spine. Our proprietary seat geometry encourages micro-movements that align the spine and fire neural pathways.

Traditional Seats

Collapsed “C” Spine, locked hips.

LemmeGrow Geometry

Active engagement, neutral spine alignment.

Active Sitting Dynamics

Unlike rigid foam seats, the LemmeGrow engages core muscles, promoting the trunk stability required for walking earlier.

Spinal Geometry

Engineered to respect the natural kyphosis of an infant’s spine while gently guiding the transition to lordosis (neck/lower back curves).

Cognitive Connection

Better posture increases oxygenation and alertness. Studies show that upright, engaged posture correlates with improved focus and interaction.

THE SCIENCE

Backed by Independent Research

The design of the LemmeGrow Baby Seat is grounded in independent, peer-reviewed research examining how posture, movement, and positioning influence early development.

Studies in pediatric biomechanics and developmental science consistently show that passive containment can limit natural movement, while active sitting with proper structural alignment supports postural engagement, muscle activation, and interaction with the environment.

TruGrowth Neuro-Postural Seating Technology applies these findings through intentional seat geometry—supporting active sitting rather than restricting it.

Pelvic Mobility Matters

Research shows that infant sitting is an active process involving coordinated movement of the pelvis and trunk.

Designs that restrict pelvic motion can limit postural adjustment and engagement.

Independent research highlights the role of pelvic and trunk coordination in the development of stable, functional sitting.

Posture Is Built Through Muscle Activity

Studies examining infant positioning show that spinal and neck muscle activity varies significantly depending on how a baby is supported.

TruGrowth Technology incorporates a low center of gravity and upright alignment to support gentle, continuous engagement of postural muscles—rather than passive support.

Research demonstrates that positioning and seating devices influence spinal muscle activation in infants.

Sitting Changes How Babies Engage

Upright sitting doesn’t just affect posture—it changes how infants interact with caregivers and their surroundings.

TruGrowth Technology supports upright, active sitting that aligns with research linking posture to increased opportunities for visual, social, and cognitive engagement.

Independent studies show that infant posture influences caregiver interaction and learning opportunities.
